This Privacy Policy explains how AskDarian collects, uses, and shares information when you use the website at askdarian.com. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information: when you sign in or create an account, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects and processes information such as your name, email address, and, if you sign in with Google, basic profile information from your Google account. We use this to create and manage your account.
Reviews and content you submit: when you post a review, we collect the display name you choose, your rating, your review text, and the email address associated with your account. Your display name and review text may be shown publicly on the site; your email address is not shown publicly.
Automatically collected information: like most websites, our hosting provider, Vercel, may automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and operational purposes.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate the site and display approved reviews, to create and secure your account and verify reviewers, to moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use, to respond to your requests including removal requests from coaches, and to maintain the security and integrity of the site.
3. How information is stored and shared
We store review data in Airtable and host the site on Vercel; account and sign-in data is handled by Clerk. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect the rights or safety of any person, or in connection with a transfer of the site.
4. Public reviews
Reviews you submit and that we approve are public. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a review, about yourself or anyone else. Information you choose to make public may be seen, copied, and used by others.
5. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and the reviews associated with it by contacting us at askdarianhq@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, for example California residents under the CCPA and CPRA, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold and the right to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information.
6. Children's privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under 18 may use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at askdarianhq@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Data retention and security
We keep account and review information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the site, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion as described above. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
